Design Technology

Design Technology is a valued part of the Curriculum at Stanton Road Primary School. It is planned and delivered through our cross-curricular topics as well as through relevant theme weeks, such as STEM Week.  It also has many cross curricula links including Maths, Science and Art. We follow the National Curriculum for this foundation subject and is taught throughout the school from F2 through  to year 6.  Technology is the process of designing, making and evaluation products fit for a purpose or improving, refining and extending the use of existing products. It also prepares children to take part in the development of tomorrow’s rapidly changing world. Creative thinking encourages children to make positive changes to their quality of life. It enables them to identify needs and opportunities and to respond by developing ideas and eventually making products and systems.
