Our Governors

  • Mrs E Neal

    Headteacher Governor

I have been Headteacher at Stanton Road Primary since 2006 following three years as Deputy Headteacher. Since the birth of my first child in 2013 I have worked three days per week as part of a co-headship. I have a Masters in Education Leadership and Management with a particular interest in Inclusion as well as Teaching and Learning in the Primary Years.

I have recently begun support for Leadership and Management development in other schools through my role as NPQH trainees. I lead the EYFS and support the SEND networks as part of the Multi Academy Trust and represents the primary academies on the Wirral Schools Forum.

  • Mrs S Cotton

    Chair, Co-opted Governor

    Term Ends October 2020
I am Chair of Governors at the school. Prior to this, I was Vice Chair of Governors. My particular interest is around teaching and learning and the curriculum. I have been a governor at the school since 2011 and thoroughly enjoy my continued involvement with the school.
My background is in Education. I taught in Wirral from 1978 on a full time basis and was Headteacher of a local primary school for 14 years. I was President of the Wirral Branch of NAHT and also involved at regional level. As a Life member I still take a keen interest in latest moves to influence education in this country. Linked to NAHT, I was a member of the Wirral Schools’ Forum.
I was involved as an external assessor and tutor in relation to standards of initial teacher training at the University of Chester. When I retired, I was a coach and mentor for some of the newly appointed Headteachers at Wirral Schools. I gained much insight from both of these roles as I have strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development and challenge at all levels within schools.
I am passionate about children being able to achieve the best possible outcomes academically whilst developing confidence and enjoyment of learning. I hope that the leadership and management skills I gained during my career continue to be of assistance in my role.
Since June 2017, I have become a Trustee of Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust. I look forward to the challenges this brings and, as stated earlier, hope my previous skills are of some benefit.

  • Miss H Wilson

    Staff Governor

    Term Ends September 2022
I have been teaching at Stanton Road for four years and I am delighted to have been elected as staff governor. I have always admired the close community that is built around the school, which includes teachers, support staff, parents and governors, and I think it is great testament to what makes our school unique.
It has inspired me to think about what more I can offer as a member of staff and I look forward to creating a vital link between staff and governors, in order to support our school in its journey
My interests include dancing, Zumba fitness and anything Disney!

  • Mr C Fidge

    Parent Governor

    Term ends December 2022
I have two children at Stanton Road Primary School, our son was born in 2010 and our daughter in 2013. I enjoy hearing about the wide variety of topics they learn in school and it’s rewarding to see them grow and their interests and imagination develop. We like the sense of togetherness and community we have at Stanton Road and I wanted to do more to support the school, which is why I asked to be nominated for parent governor. I have a career in science and research and since 2011, I have been working at Unilever R&D Port Sunlight. I can usually be found dropping the kids off at breakfast club or picking them up from after-school club. I look forward to helping wherever I can.
